Lay Formation Classes in Spanish

In one of the most ethnically and religiously diverse cities in the United States, the mission of "Instituto de Liderazgo" is vital. We are proud to be able to provide the useful and necessary formation and education for human flourishing in our Hispanic/Latino communities, forming and preparing new generations of compassionate, reflective, and adaptive leaders and ministers in an interconnected world.

The program includes formation in theology, liturgy, pastoral care, ethics in leadership, preaching, and more. Participants gain the basic knowledge and tools to apply new and innovative approaches that are needed in the world today and in the future, especially as the world tries to wake up from the pandemic caused by SARS-Cov-19 and its successors.

The program offers a high level of participation in community life through learning, worship, and fellowship opportunities, also providing participants with the basic academic/practical knowledge to better exercise their specific ministries. After completing the first two years of basic theological education, participants receive a certificate of completion, and they may choose one or several areas of specialty which include but are not limited to pastoral care, liturgist, lay preacher, hospice visitor, spiritual direction, etc.

Classes are held every other Saturday from 9 am. to 2 pm. The location is at St Paul's Commons, located at 840 Echo Park Av. Los Angeles, CA 90026.
